2009 Vancouver USA Natural & Tanji Johnson Fitness Classic
What Can I say????
I am so proud of all of the Athletes that competed at the 2009 Vancouver Classic!
So, let's do the whole backstage recap....
Friday night was a great time with Tanji Johnson & crew taking the girls through an on stage rehearsal. What a great opportunity for the ladies to practice what it feels like to be on stage with those 4-5" heels! ( I always found that this helps me visualize myself on stage after I get back to the hotel when I'm doing some focusing & quiet time!) The girls were shown how the head judge would rotate the lines, do call outs and what the difference between the prejudging & evening show stage entrances will be. A great big hand to Tanji and the crew for running the whole practice.
The new NPC Bikini Division when on first to rehearse their "close hanger" stage walking patterns would be. I could see that the majority of the girls had attended a few practices already, so it was great to see the professionalism.
And, I would like to add a personal note here. Don't hate. I see a lot of fitness & figure & other people have a few comments, and how some may have not warmed up to the idea of a new division....I think it's an amazing opportunity for these ladies, still with muscle, just not as built as the figure girls, to showcase their hard work. The ladies placing high, all showcased very tight physiques, firm, skin tones were flawless, these girls worked the stage with rhythm and showed that they can do a lot more than quarter turns...Just think about how the women's bodybuilders felt when fitness was introduced...and then when figure was introduced....and now bikini....Things evolve, and if we can get more women involved in healthy living, healthy eating, and healthy training...don't you think it's worth it to welcome everyone into our family?
I got love for the Bikini rounds. I was very proud to see our SG2Victory girls up there, and to see who else came out. Great job ladies! Keep rockin' it!
Pre judging went off without a hitch, and the most pleasant was watching the Jr. Fitness Girls do their routines! Can you imagine yourself at 8 or 10 years old and going on stage to do a fitness routine? They were magnificent and I am looking towards taking a few Jr. girls with me next year to compete!
The Show proved that ladies over 35 RULED the stage! The class was so big (over 20), that they decided to split the group up into 2 classes. Over 35 - 40, and 41+....this was an excellent decision and I was so happy to see that the athletes are so taken care of. I thought that the CRAZY conditioning of all of these girls were so spot on, the judges must have had one heck of a time doing their job! I was so impressed by these ladies, I hope that I can one day be as tight and built and completely beautiful on the inside like all of them. These ladies all had hearts of GOLD. It was truly an amazing treat to see this kind of competition! And remember, all these ladies trained during the WINTER! wow! usually some folks find it better to do spring/summer training....but these guys all brought their A Game.
Catalina, Darci, Evelynn, Honna, Kathy, Rebecca, Mennan, Monica, Sheila, Sue... I am so proud of you. We saw some familiar faces backstage and I wanted to extend a great big hug to all of you that I saw, or who I glued into your suit! You all had a tremendous showing, and I want to thank everyone for upholding our very high and very strict Etiquette rules, we at SG2Victory support each other, care for each other like ourselves, and we do not tolerate Backstage BS.
I wanted to also let all of you know that you all did a great job with your color! I am so happy that our Jan Tana Hi Def formula worked on everyone! Yes, we did add an extra coat to some of you ladies between shows, but obviously you all looked fantastic!
Thanks for everyone making it out to the show too! The crowd support is so needed, and we appreciate all the encouragement heard from you out in the crowd! Diane, Diana, Andrea, Kristina, and everyone else my Post show fried brain cannot remember! (sorry!) We are looking forward to seeing you guys on stage soon, and hope that your training is going well! Lots of love to you, and we will be in the crowd for YOUR shows too! Lisa Carson, you did a ton of work at the show too, thanks for your support and looking forward to seeing you on stage too!
www.jimwallingford.com will have pix of the shows here in just a bit....over 4,500 pix were taken over 2 days by Jim! Holy Guacamole! Give him an extra hour to process! If you would like to order a show package, just email him at jimwallingford@gmail.com
