Sandy Grant's Fitness & Figure Ecup History...
Just a little History about Sandy Grant & the Emerald Cup:
Sandy won The first ever FIGURE DIVISION in the State of Washington back in 2001 at the Vancouver Classic, and repeated her victory 2 weeks later when she again, Captured the Overall Award at the Emerald Cup!
Sandy went on to win her FITNESS division in 2003 at the Ecup, moving on to Earn her Pro Card 3 months later at the USA's in Las Vegas!
Saying goes, if you win OVERALL at the Emerald Cup....you are destined to Become Pro!
Sandy's not only been a gracious Guest Performer, but also has done a fantastic job handing out Trophies several years! Sandy continues to showcase professionalism, grace, and is truly "Seattle's Fitness Sweetheart"!
Sandy did some great research this week on fellow athletes who have won and went on to turn PRO, or at least become incredibly famous otherwise!

Got to give Props to Sei Ryan, winning overall Fitness in 2000! She recently retired from The Seattle SeaGals! We love ya Sei!
AND....A great big hug goes out to Millie Cleveland of Bermuda! She's won the Emerald Cup Women's Overall Bodybuilding TWICE!!! She holds that title in not only 2005, but in 2008 as well! Millie, you got it girl! You've got one heck of a physique and i'd love to see you on stage again! Lot of love deary!

Prior to 2000, other Emerald Cup "Fitness Winners" or "Top Placers" in their class to turn pro were Dina Dela Llana, Cathryn Crane, Christina Homan-Summers, & Brandy Maddron. We have alot of Pacific Northwestern'ers like Kristie Tauti, who hails from Oregon, who has also gone on to turn Pro.
Also, a few Washinton State-ers who have turned Pro (who had competed in the Emerald Cup), are 2003 Emerald Cup overall winner Michael Kindred. Some other local WA State Pro's are Sheila Bleck, Tonia Williams, Safiya Johnson, Lora Ottenad, Mah-Ann Mendoza, Nikki Fuller & Shelley Beattie. Julie Shipley-Childs & our very own Mark Dugdale (who has an incredible family!)
Nate Detracy of Bellevue's Evolution Gym won the 2007 Ecup, then went onto the USA's and won his class there! But narrowly got edged out for the Pro cards given that year...We look forward to seeing Nate get his card very soon!
