You Don't Have Your Own Website Yet? Wha???

What blows my mind, is that not enough of my clients have their own websites yet!

A website can help promote you as not only an Athlete, but also a "bookable talent" for things like Supplement Demonstrations, Event work, Booth Girls opportunities, and as a Resume for yourself as a Competitor!

Without the whole "I know how to type HTML and CODE" thing....there are many sites out there that allow you to use Templates! You just add in your pictures and text and let the rest go! Sure, it takes a bit of time, but don't rush! It doesn't have to be PERFECT the first time you publish. You can add and subtract things as you go, creating a very personable and professional site.

I have been using Go Daddy since early 2006! Love what they offer, and pricing is really fantastic, and easy to build, easy to publish! I purchased my www.shannongill.com for 2 years and got a free site (yes they have ads at the top, but frankly right now, I'm okay with that until I upgrade to a non-ad site).

I purchased my Domain Name, and purchased Web Hosting thru them as well.

Let's face it, there are MILLIONS of Websites out there for you to choose from. Some, obviously more reputable than others, so I just wanted to share with you the one's I've been accustomed to using.

Bigger names work for me!

Happy Hunting!

I have been researching Athlete's sites for a long time and have seen some Magnificent sites created by Folks. So, it's up to you! You can Do it yourself, or Pay someone to do it.

The least expensive I've ever seen a site was for $150.  - And that was for someone who just needed a Simple Site put up.

You're definitely looking into other people who charge a MINIMUM of 3 hours at $50 - $150 per hour for sites, for some of the guys I've talked to. Now, upkeep on your site, like adding new text, adding updated pictures etc, won't be too difficult for them, so fees are usually lower than that for maintenance.

Pro's of doing it on your own:
Price Point
Your Choice of Templates
Your Time Table in Creation, Upkeep & adding features

Cons of doing it on your own:
Limited Templates
Time consumption
The all "unknowing" how to re-work HTML on the backside of the templates

Pro's of Hiring Web master
Someone else does the work!
Creative sites, limited only by web masters' abilities
Expertise

Cons of Hiring Web master
Financial
Waiting until they are available to do the work
creative differences

Good Luck Everyone!
