JUST GOT THIS EMAIL FROM OUR VERY OWN ATHLETE, HALEINA DESROSIER!
"Hello everybody!!
I hope life is treating you all well and you are having a wonderful summer so far enjoying this lovely weather!!
I wanted to shoot you all an e-mail, as it is official.........as of Friday 7/31/09, I have enlisted in the Army for 4 active duty years as a Medic (EMT in civilian term)!! I am so excited to be doing this and wanted to share this information with all of you, as your support during this adventure of mine would be awesome!
I ship out on Tuesday December 29, 2009 to Fort Jackson, South Carolina for 10 weeks of intense Basic Training ....... which I am so stoked for!!!!! Upon completion / graduation of basic training, I will be heading immediately to Fort Sam Houston where I will be in Medic (EMT) training for 16 exhausting weeks! AND yes, I am assuming at this point that I will graduate boot camp - hahaha!!! Anyway, again, I wanted to share this with you all as your support would be awesome while I am doing push up after push after push up in boot camp!!!
Again, I hope you are all doing well and have a wonderful rest of the summer!!! WOOHOO - Haleina

HALEINA IS SMART, SAVVY, AND ONE HECK OF A WOMAN. I AM EXCITED FOR HER IN HER NEW VISION AND WISH HER LOTS OF HARD WORK "LUCK" AND MENTAL AND PHYSICAL FORTITUDE! GO GET 'EM GIRL!
SHE'S GOING TO BE SAVING LOTS OF LIVES, HEALING AND CONSTITUTING HER OWN BRAND OF HUMOR. HALIENA IS HILARIOUS, GENEROUS, BRIGHT AND BEAUTIFUL.... AND CAN LIGHT UP ANY ROOM WITH HER LAUGHTER AND I AM PROUD TO CALL HER ONE OF MY FRIENDS!
